Troopers say 60-year-old John Didden Jr. of Canastota was operating his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the eastbound lanes of the Thruway late Saturday night when he lost control for an unknown reason just west of Exit 34, near his home in the Madison County town of Lenox, 15 miles east of Syracuse.
State police are investigating the cause of a weekend motorcycle crash that killed a 60-year-old woman and left her husband in critical condition.
Troopers say 60-year-old John Didden Jr. of Canastota was operating his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the eastbound lanes of the Thruway late Saturday night when he lost control for an unknown reason just west of Exit 34, near his home in the Madison County town of Lenox, 15 miles east of Syracuse.
The bike overturned on the paved shoulder of the highway, ejecting Didden and his wife, Carol.
Troopers say she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband was taken to Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse, where he's listed in critical condition.
