1 dead, 3 hurt in 2-car crash in Mohawk Valley

Troopers say a car was traveling west on state Route 5 around 5 p.m. Sunday when it crossed the center line and drove into the path of an eastbound vehicle in the Herkimer County city of Little Falls, 65 miles east of Syracuse. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was killed and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
State police are investigating the cause of a two-car head-on crash in the Mohawk Valley that left one person dead and three others injured. Troopers say a car was traveling west on state Route 5 around 5 p.m. Sunday when it crossed the center line and drove into the path of an eastbound vehicle in the Herkimer County city of Little Falls, 65 miles east of Syracuse. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was killed and a passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver of the westbound car and a passenger both suffered serious injuries and are at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. The victims' names haven't been released. Troopers say the investigation is continuing.
