Phillip Michael Brooks, 59, succumbed to injuries after being ejected from a riding lawn mower in a collision with a passenger vehicle on Shook Road in Catawba County, North Carolina

Officials say a 2001 Honda Passport, traveling south on Shook Road, hit the driver of a riding lawn mower that was also driving south in the roadway. The operator of the mower, Phillip Michael Brooks, 59, of Claremont, was ejected from the mower and critically injured, according to troopers.
