Two ejected, seven injured in single-vehicle crash along I-85

Seven people were injured, two of them thrown from the vehicle, during a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 85 Southbound Monday night. Seven people, including two children, were in the vehicle when it hit a guardrail, overturning and crashing into the woods. According to the Gastonia Fire Department, the crash happened near exit 17 around 7:30 p.m. Gastonia Fire Department rescue personnel freed the trapped passenger and all seven people were taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Two people were thrown from the vehicle, one person became trapped.
