WSOC-TV in Charlotte reports that neither Stephanie Youman nor her unborn child was hurt.
Emergency personnel said Youman was driving on Airport Rhodhiss Road, which was coated with a layer of snow and ice.
Youman said she wouldn't have ventured out Wednesday morning, but said she's a first-time expectant mother and is one day overdue, so she was worried about her unborn son.
She said it would be "definitely memorable" if her son was born on Wednesday.
