Teen girl reportedly killed when car flips, crashes into church

Garcia was an 8th grader at Asbury Middle School and friends say she went by the nickname "Betty".

According to witnesses, a four-door sedan was speeding back and forth on the road when the driver lost control and the vehicle left the road and flipped, crashing into a brick wall of the Jesus Name Ministerial Tabernacle on North Aspen Street. The accident happend at around 2:35 a.m. Sunday morning. The car started on fire, and good Samaritans pulled occupants from the wreckage. A back seat passenger, Beatriz Maria Garcia, died in the accident. Speed was apparently a factor.

This is true, Betty was my best friend. Its been over a week and im still in shock of losing my best friend. This serves as a lesson to us all, drive safe. And rest easy betty, you will be missed

Betty was a really good friend of mine but the way i treated her last time i seen her was messed up and the last time o i seen her was April 11.... Betty i miss u #LLB #RIPBETTY

betty was a really sweat girl i cant believe we had met like two weeks before she died and she was there for me for those two weeks and i was already going through alot and then loosing my closest friends at Asbury it was really hard. betty i hope your flying high with the angels. betty your are truely missed as asbury by all ur teachers and friends. may you rest in piece my beautiful angel. thanks again for everything you have ever done for me. i appreciate u,

It's been two years and yet losing someone so near and dear to your heart never really gets any easier. Betty not only was one of my best friends growing up but also so very close to many more who miss her dearly! As to her family, prayers are still being sent. We love you Betty!!
