Fiery crash in Guilford County kills three, including Greensboro fireman

Investigators believe Alexio Lattero, 16, was driving north on NC 61 in a 2012 Dodge Charger when he lost control of his vehicle and traveled left of center, hitting a car going the opposite direction.

The Charger caught fire. A 15-year-old and 26-year-old inside died at the scene, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Murrell, 58, a Greensboro firefighter assigned to Station 5 on Westover Terrace, also died at the scene. His 50-year-old wife, who was in the front seat, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
