Police said Desimone was inhaling an intoxicating substance while driving.
Police in Burlington, North Carolina report that an impaired teen drove their car into a post office. The crash occurred at approximately 11:20 PM at the post office on Maple Avenue. The investigators' report states that George Desimone, 17, veered off of Broad street and then entered a parking lot before slamming into the front of the post office. Nobody was inside the building at the time. According to police, Desimone was using an intoxicating inhalant while operating the vehicle. He was released into the custody of his parents, who promised to bring him to court. The post office will be closed until repairs are complete.
