Zonte Andre Pittman, 52, of High Point was walking east on the shoulder of W. Main Street east of Penny Road just after 7 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle traveling east struck him from behind. Pittman had life-threatening injuries and was taken to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
