A Kernersville woman, her 12-year-old daughter and her daughter’s 11-year-old friend were killed Sunday night after the passenger car that the woman was driving crashed head-on into a pickup.

The crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 311.
Gina Ann Caraballo, 41, and her daughter, Kayla, 12, died at the scene. A third person in the car, Breanna Burrow, 11, also died at the scene.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Caraballo's car crossed the center line and hit another car head-on. Two people in that car were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash is still under investigation.
