Investigators said driver of the utility truck tried to avoid the car by trying to move off the road but couldn't prevent the crash.
Sky 5 flew over the scene at 9:30 a.m., where crews were pulling a person out of the sedan, which was heavily damaged.

Trooper D.R. Grady said a 1996 Toyota Camry driven by Drake Everett Day, age 32, of Merritt, NC was traveling northbound on Beaver Dam Road when he ran off the roadway to the right, overcorrected, and crossed the centerline into the path of a southbound utility truck operated by James Cody Moore, age 26, of Erwin.
