Man, 20, killed in Wake County crash
The wreck happened at about 11 p.m., and officials closed a portion of N.C. 55 Bypass until about 2 a.m. Saturday.
A Maryland man died Friday evening in an accident on the N.C. Highway 55 Bypass in Apex. Andrew Shank, 20, was driving about 70 mph as he exited N.C. I-540. He crossed all lanes of traffic, and then his vehicle went airborne and crashed upside down in an embankment. Shank was pronounced deceased at the crash site. No additional information was immediately available.
