Around 1:30 a.m., authorities responded to a crash on Elk Road. According to officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a motorcycle with two riders was heading east on Elk Road when a car traveling west crossed its lane and hit the motorcycle head on.

A motorcycle ridden by Scott Farr, 43, of Fayetteville, and Candee Sommer, 43, of Fayetteville, was heading east on Elk Road when westbound driver Fernandez Buenaventura, 50, crossed the lane and hit the motorcycle head-on.
