One person dead, Miguel Arquimides Caseres, 45, facing charges after his car crosses center-line on snowy roadway and crashes head-on with another vehicle in Chatham County, North Carolina

A man faces misdemeanor charges after a passenger died in a head-on crash on a snowy Chatham County road Wednesday. Miguel Arquimides Caseres, 45, of Siler City, was charged following a crash around 1:15 p.m. on Silk Road near Romine Pike Road. Caseres was driving a 1996 Ford car on a snow-covered road when it crossed the center line and crashed into a 1999 Chevrolet, troopers said. The passenger in the Chevrolet died. The passenger's name hasn't been released pending notification of next-of-kin. Caseres also was charged with exceeding a safe speed.
