Three seriously injured in I-540 wreck
Three people were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries Friday morning after a wreck on Interstate 540 in north Raleigh. The wreck happened at about 7:30 a.m. near the Lumley Road interchange when a 2006 Isuzu box truck merged into traffic and struck a 2004 Chevrolet van, police said. The van then flipped several times and crossed over the center guard wire into the eastbound lanes of I-540, while the box truck flipped and came to rest against the center guard wire, police said.
