Brunswick County Schools spokesperson Jessica Swencki said there were two students on the bus at the time of the accident. Neither the students nor the driver were of Brunswick County Academy Bus 233 were injured. According to Swencki, the students will be heading to school when an alternative bus arrives and Highway Patrol clears them to leave the scene. Witnesses say the deputy got out of the vehicle and was directing traffic after the crash. Sheppard was taken to the hospital for treatment, but is expected to be okay.
