Weather-related 3-vehicle crash near Mandaree kills 1

MANDAREE, N.D. (AP) - A fatality crash has prompted the closure of a highway intersection near Mandaree. The state Transportation Department shut down the intersection of state Highways 22 and 73 north of Mandaree on Tuesday morning. The Highway Patrol says the three-vehicle crash was weather-related. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed. One person died and another was critically injured.

One Killed in McKenzie County Accident

Eckert and a passenger were injured in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol. The semi driver was not injured. The Highway Patrol reports the driver of a pickup was killed when he slowed to turn off of Highway 22 onto Highway 73 and was hit by a pickup driven by Lacey Eckert of Durango, Colorado. Eckert's pickup was then hit by a semi headed south on Highway 22.

Authorities ID Minot man who died in crash near Mandaree

Thirty-six-year-old Phillip Taggart was driving a pickup truck that the patrol says was struck by a pickup that failed to yield at the intersection of state Highways 22 and 73 on Tuesday morning. He died at the scene.
