David Schoolcraft killed in single car accident after his car leaves roadway and crashes into tree.

Troopers are investigating a crash in Athens County that killed a man.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 12:48 a.m. Sunday, 41-year-old David Schoolcraft, of Athens, was driving a Ford Mustang northbound on County Road 19, when he lost control of his vehicle and drove off the left side of the road.

The car then struck a tree and flipped, ejecting Schoolcraft.

Schoolcraft was transported to O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens where he later died from his injuries, according to troopers.

Troopers said Schoolcraft was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
