A Hamilton County sheriff's deputy was hospitalized after a crash in Anderson Township Sunday morning, officials said.
A vehicle struck Deputy Andrew Helsinger's car in the 3800 block of Mount Carmel Road, said Sgt. Tim Nash.
Helsinger was taken to the hospital where he was evaluated, Sgt. Tim Nash said. "He's alert and awake -- it's definitely not life-threatening. He's more banged up than anything," he said. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, but officials transported a passenger to the hospital for minor injuries, Nash said. Alcohol or drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
