Gayle Callahan, 68, killed, after her car crosses into the oncoming traffic lane and collides head-on with a tractor-trailer on State Route 309 near Marion, Ohio

The Marion post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one person Friday afternoon. According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday along state Route 309 near state Route 746 in Marion County. Investigators say that 68-year-old Gayle Callahan, 68, of Crestline was traveling west on S.R. 309 when she drove left of center, striking a tractor-trailer head-on. Callahan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured. S.R. 309 was closed while troopers investigated. The roadway reopened shortly before 5 p.m.
