Shawnee man dies in accident near Meeker

A Shawnee man died Monday after the vehicle he was traveling in left the roadway and wrecked, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The two were traveling west on 1060 Road west of 3336 Road when the vehicle left the road to the right, struck a ditch line and rolled. Trinton Mcelyea, 25, was a passenger in a car driven by Felicia Dunning, 28, of McLoud, just after 2 a.m. Seat belts were not in use, according to the patrol. Mcelyea was partially thrown from the car and trapped by the vehicle.
