A 3-year-old boy from Jay has died as a result of injuries suffered in an Oklahoma crash. The crash was Saturday in Delaware County, Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Elizabeth McDaniel of Jay was at a stop sign on County Road 700 at 1:20 p.m. when she pulled out into the path of a van that was westbound on the highway, according to a collision report. Her four-door 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was struck in the side "in a T-bone manner," a trooper's report states.

Jay boy dies after weekend collision near Grove

The accident took place at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, approximately six miles east of Grove on State Highway 25.
Elizabeth McDaniel was driving on State Highway 25 with passengers Johnathan Morton Wainwright and a 3-year-old boy when her vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Wayne Charles Robinson, 40. McDaniel and Wainwright were not wearing seat belts and suffered non-life threatening injuries. Robinson wore a seatbelt and was not hurt. The boy, whose name has not been released, was secured in a booster seat and sent to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
