A tanker truck hauling 6,000 gallons of hot asphalt has overturned on the Creek Turnpike between 31st and 41st Streets in far east Tulsa.
Hazmat crews are being called in to help stop the leak and clean up the spill.
One lane in each direction of Creek Turnpike is closed.
Semi Carrying Oil Overturns On Creek Turnpike, Burns Driver
Captain Stan May with the Tulsa Fire Department said, "We're going to keep it right here in the ditch. They'll remove all the oil they can, and any dirt that's contaminated they'll have to dig it up and haul it off also."
Larry Crossland was taken to a hospital in critical condition for treatment of burns. The driver told police he blacked out, and when he regained consciousness he was being pulled out of the truck.
