Oregon State Police are investigating a log truck accident that sent logs tumbling across Highway 126W west of Noti in Lane County on Tuesday.
Oregon State Police are investigating a log truck accident that sent logs tumbling across Highway 126W, west of Noti in Lane County on Tuesday. According to police: Eric S. Wedekind, 39 of Yoncalla, was driving the truck east when the logs began to roll off the vehicle while it was rounding a curve. The truck and trailer overturned, coming to rest on the side of the highway. The logs ended up on the shoulder and in a yard at 22092 Highway 126W. Wedekind was not hurt. Police said he was wearing safety restraints. But some of the logs damaged a power pole, causing power lines to fall. The highway was closed for electrical repairs. Wedekind has not been cited.
