Cathlamet, Wash., logger killed while felling trees in Columbia County

The accident happened in the area between the two forks of Green Timber Creek. Wolcott was working for Schubert & Sons Logging of Cathlamet. 
61-year-old Donald J. Wolcott of Cathlamet, Wash., was killed when a tree he was cutting fell, struck him and pinned him to the ground. Wolcott was felling trees on land owned by Weyerhauser in northwest Columbia County, near U.S. 26. Deputies reported that the area is in steep terrain and wooded.
