Joy De’Ann Allen, 35, 2-year-old daughter injured, transported to hospital, after their car crossed the center-line on Highway 26 near Banks, and crashed into a tractor-trailer driven by Gregory Kostrba, 66.

A Beaverton woman and her two-year-old daughter had to be cut out of their car after veering into oncoming traffic and crashing along Highway 26 early Monday, police said.

Joy De’Ann Allen, 35, was driving a Toyota Corolla when she crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed into the left front corner of an oncoming Freightliner truck around 9 a.m., according to the Oregon State Police.

Allen and her daughter were taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for treatment. Police said Allen suffered serious injuries and the two-year-old had minor injuries.

Meth was also found on Allen while she was being treated at the hospital, Hastings said.

The driver of the truck, Gregory Kostrba, 66, of Wilsonville, suffered minor injuries but refused medical care at the scene.

Allen faces several charges, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, assault, recklessly endangering another person, and driving without an operator’s license.

Highway 26 was closed with a detour in place for over 3 hours during the investigation and cleanup of the wreckage.
