Wrong-way driver causes deadly crash; Hwy 26 East closed at Cornell Rd.
A deadly head-on crash has Highway 26 eastbound closed just past the Cornell Road exit, Beaverton Police said.
The crash happened around 1:10 a.m. Wednesday when a wrong-way driver hit another car head-on, according to emergency responders at the scene.

The driver of a red pickup truck, 50-year-old Armando Gallegos, went the wrong way, said Rowe.
The pickup struck a car with a car with three people inside. The front passenger, Brandon Damon Mitchell Wendell, died.
The driver, Taylor D. Melger, and a 17-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

Gallegos is facing single counts of second-degree manslaughter, reckless driving and driving under the influence of intoxicants, Beaverton police said in a news release. He's also facing two counts of second-degree assault, police said.
