Battle Ground man critically injured in Oregon crash
A Battle Ground man is in critical condition following a crash in Clackamas County Ore. Wednesday afternoon.
John M. Fletcher, 18, was identified by Oregon State Police as one of the drivers in the serious crash on Highway 26 near Brightwood, Ore. about 3:30 p.m. Fletcher was extricated from a 2004 Subaru Legacy station wagon suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Science University.
Fletcher was driving the Subaru west in the right lane of the highway when an eastbound 1994 Ford pickup driven by Trevor E. Hughes, 26, of Rhododendron, Ore. crossed the center lane and traveled into the westbound lanes, according to state police.
The pickup rolled before coming to rest on its side.
Hughes suffered minor injuries and was taken to OHSU, where he was treated and released.
State troopers and detectives are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash with the assistance of the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office.
