Girl dies in crash near Brownsville.

A 16-year-old girl died and two others sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Oregon 228 just east of Brownsville, Oregon State Police reported.

Troopers still investigating fatal accident near Brownsville.

Oregon State Police still don't know why a 16-year-old driver who died Sunday crossed into oncoming traffic on Oregon 228 just east of Brownsville Sunday afternoon.

A 16-year-old girl died and two others sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Oregon 228 just east of Brownsville, Oregon State Police reported.

The victim's name will be released Monday, troopers said.

Troopers said the girl was driving an SUV westbound when it crossed the centerline and was struck on the left side by an eastbound tow truck.

The girl died at the scene.

Her 37-year-old mother, whose name will also be released Monday, received minor injuries, troopers said.

The tow truck driver, a 53-year old Eugene man, also sustained minor injuries, troopers said.
