Pedestrian dies after hit by car in Gresham, driver flees

A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed in Gresham Saturday evening, and police are looking for the hit-and-run driver. Jerrie Ann Horning, 49, of Gresham, was crossing West Powell Boulevard near Southwest Junction Place, just before 9 p.m., when she was killed. The vehicle that hit her was described as a white Mercedes Benz. Shortly after, a citizen who had been monitoring a police radio spotted the Mercedes and called 911. Police were able to locate the vehicle but the driver was not apprehended. The Mercedes has been seized as evidence.
