Richard A. Cochrane, 74, dies, Joanne K. Cochrane, 73, injured in single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 84 near La Grande, Oregon

Spokane Valley resident Richard A. Cochrane, 74, was driving his 2005 Dodge Ram pickup west on I-84 about 14 miles east of La Grande around 3 p.m. when his truck crashed through a guardrail and flipped over in the median, according to the Oregon State Police. It is not known why Cochrane’s truck left the freeway.

His passenger, 73-year-old Joanne K. Cochrane, was seriously injured in the crash. One lane of the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed for about three hours.
