Two adults, infant hurt in Polk Co. crash.

A crash on Highway 18 in Polk County left three people, including an 18-month-old girl, seriously injured Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Police asked for witnesses Thursday to help in their investigation of a two-vehicle crash on Oregon 18 on Wednesday that left three people injured, including a child. A 2005 Chevrolet Astro van driven by Joshua D. Lesmeister, 28 of Tenino, Wash., was headed east near milepost 15 when the van crossed into the westbound lane and crashed nearly head-on with a 2008 Honda Civic driven by Megan K. Goss, 34 of Portland. Lesmeister, Goss and Goss' 18-month old daughter were injured. Lesmeister, who was driving a van registered to Harris Electrical of Seattle, was flown by Reach air ambulance to OHSU Hospital. Goss was taken by Pacific West Ambulance to Salem Hospital and her daughter was flown by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. Oregon State Police said all of the injuries were serious but did not appear to be life-threatening. Airbags in both vehicles deployed, the adults were in safety restraints and the child was in a child safety seat, police said.
