A pickup driver pulled over in a limited shoulder along the southbound lanes because of a problem with the truck, police said. The truck was stopped partially in the right lane.
Driver dies after crash south of Oregon City
The pickup driver, 63-year-old Glenn Paul Lauinger of Canby, pulled over in a limited shoulder along the southbound lanes because of a problem with the truck, police said. The truck was stopped partially in the right lane. Lauinger was outside his truck when another car crashed into the back of the pickup.

The pickup truck driver was actually outside of his truck at the time of collision, but sustained the worst injuries and had to be airlifted to Oregon Health and Science University. He later died from his injuries. Utley and his passenger sustained only minor or non-life threatening injuries.
