Police: Drunk driver crashes stolen car; passenger dies

A passenger who was critically injured when a drunk driver crashed a stolen car into a minivan died at a hospital a few days later, Portland police said.

A woman critically injured in a Northeast Portland crash on Sunday died Tuesday, Portland police said.

Joshua Eric Lindsay broke into a house and stole the keys to a car. He and Jeannette Rene Fields drove away in the car. They soon crashed into a minivan and Fields sustained serious injuries. Lindsay was not hurt in the crash and kept driving until the car stopped functioning and he was arrested. Fields passed away of her injuries several days later. Lindsay was jailed.
