A fatal crash involving a semi truck and a pedestrian closed two of three southbound lanes of Interstate 5 about three miles south of Wilsonville, according to Oregon State Police.

Troopers said it appeared the victim, Tersee Gar, 24, of Tualatin, walked into traffic and into the path of a semi truck hauling wood chips. According to investigators, Gar, who was living with his family at the rest area, had been talking about suicide before the incident. The investigation found that shortly before 6 a.m., Gar walked into the southbound lane of I-5 and a semi-truck hauling wood chips hit him, killing him.
24-year-old Tersee S. Gar of Tualatin is dead after a fatal crash involving a semi truck on Interstate 5 near Wilsonville, Oregon. The exit ramp near the location was affected during the investigation and traffic backed up to the Boone Bridge over the Willamette River.
