Fire Lt. Dennis DeVoe killed in hit-and-run collision with alleged drunk driver Khanyae Kendall, 19, at 14th and Walnut Streets in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for DeVoe. About $2,500 had been raised by 4 p.m. Saturday. The goal is to raise $25,000.

Lt. DeVoe passed away this evening from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on March 10, 2017 while responding to a house fire in the City of Harrisburg. He was surrounded by his family and close friends at the time of his passing.

Another GoFundMe campaign has been established for Lt. Dennis DeVoe[2], who was killed after being involved in a hit-and-run crash while enroute to the fire. That campaign is seeking to raise $25,000 to support DeVoe's family.

Kendall remains in jail with a $200,000 bond. Her next court date was set for Tuesday. She lived in the 1900 block of Bellevue, which is one mile from the crash scene.

Even in death, DeVoe helped save five people's lives through the donations of his organs. His wife Amy told friends about it on her Facebook page Tuesday.

A funeral procession for Harrisburg Bureau of Fire Lieutenant Dennis DeVoe will pass the state Capitol before a firefighter service Friday inside the Forum Auditorium.

A procession Friday morning will pass by the front of the Capitol around 10:45 a.m, then continue north on Third Street to Forrester where it will travel east to Seventh Street to its final stop in front of the Forum.

Authorities on Monday added homicide by vehicle charges against 18-year-old Khanyae (KAHN'-yay) Kendall. She was already in the Dauphin County jail on an aggravated assault by vehicle charge and other offenses.

In an effort to raise money for the family of a fallen Harrisburg firefighter, a local restaurant held a fundraiser event Monday night.

The Texas Roadhouse on Union Deposit Road donated 10 percent of all bills to the family of Lt. Dennis Devoe.
