Police: Driver who hit, killed motorcyclist in Fayette County was texting

A Fayette County man is facing a felony charge of homicide by vehicle is suspected of texting while driving when he hit and killed a man on a motorcycle, state police said.

The Fayette County Coroner’s office has released the identity of the motorcycle driver killed in a crash in South Union Township Wednesday evening.
Brian Humbert was killed when a man accused of texting and driving went off the road and struck him on his motorcycle. Humbert died at the scene. The driver, Thomas Rich, 53, is free on $25,000 unsecured bond while he awaits a preliminary hearing May 20, 2015.
