Slatington man killed in two-vehicle crash in Lehigh County

Firefighters and emergency medical personnel attempted to remove Eaches from the vehicle and provide medical attention, according to police. Micklus was wearing a seatbelt.
Charles Eaches, 80, of Slatington, was killed Friday in a two-vehicle collision in Lehigh County, after he failed to stop at an intersection just after 3 p.m. at Best Station and Spur roads in Washington Township. Eaches, was not wearing a seatbelt as he drove south on Spur Road, and failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with Best Station Road. He crashed into an embankment on the south side of Best Station Road, and then his vehicle was hit by a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Robby Micklus, of Macungie.  Eaches' car then spun and flip onto the driver's side. He was declared deceased at the crash site.
