3 tractor-trailers crash, two injured, several lanes of Penn. Turnpike blocked.

An accident involving three tractor-trailers has shutdown the eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County.

The accident happened at about 6 a.m. Friday in the eastbound lanes of the Turnpike near the exit for Route 1 in Bensalem.
According to investigators, the accident involved three tractor-trailers.

As a result of the crash, several rolls of steel that were being hauled by one of the tractors involved in the crash smashed through a concrete barrier and ended up in the westbound lanes.

The eastbound lanes remain closed and Turnpike officials say the lanes are expected to remain closed until at least 11 a.m. Traffic is flowing as usual in the westbound lanes.
Turnpike officials said two people were injured. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
