School bus carrying Lehigh University's rowing team rolls over on Route 22 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania: Rodney Dale Sigley Jr., 28, killed

A school bus has overturned in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.Chopper 6 over the scene shows 'Lehigh University' on the side of the bus.The accident happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. Tuesday on Route 22 near the Schoenersville Road exit in Hanover Township.

The Lehigh University bus flipped over Tuesday during the crash near the Lehigh-Northampton county line, about 50 miles north of Philadelphia. The Lehigh County coroner’s office says 28-year-old Rodney Dale Sigley Jr. of Bethlehem died in the crash. By The Associated Press BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — A bus carrying rowing team members from a Pennsylvania university has collided with a car, killing the car’s driver. A university spokeswoman says the 20 students on the bus from the school’s men’s and women’s crew teams were taken to hospitals for evaluation. No major injuries to students or university personnel were reported.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —  State police have released the name of the driver whose sedan struck a Lehigh University bus, which caused the bus to roll over several times before coming to rest on its roof. Roof to road, the Lehigh University bus toppled on route 22 and inside were the university’s men’s and women’s crew teams and the bus driver. Sigley, age 28, was pronounced dead on the scene and was reportedly ejected from the vehicle. Witnesses say he was driving at a very high rate of speed Tuesday evening. He’s now being identified as Rodney Dale Sigley, Jr. of Quakertown.

Trooper Marc Allen said 28-year-old Rodney Sigley Jr., of Bethlehem, had been pulled over Tuesday for following too closely and had no license so he gave the trooper his name and birthdate. Allen says when the trooper went back to his car to run the information, Sigley drove off.

He had his very good points. Police say a Bethlehem man was killed in a collision with a bus carrying students from Lehigh University Tuesday night.Action News spoke with the man's family, who describe him as a good person who had a real problem with substance abuse.Yvonne Sigley will always remember her grandson Rodney Sigley Jr. as a helpful young man with a kind heart.She says, "He was a good boy.
