Car Crashes Into House In Delco Causing Gas Leak, Evacuations.

A car hit a high pressure main when it crashed into a house Saturday, causing a gas leak in Darby, Delaware County, according to authorities.

A car hit a high pressure main when it crashed into a house Saturday, causing a gas leak in Darby, Delaware County, according to authorities.

This happened around 4:15 p.m. at the home located on the 400 block of Darby Terrace when a driver reportedly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake while parallel parking.
Crews were forced to evacuate the block while working on the gas leak caused when the car hit a high pressure main.

The gas leak is now contained and people are being allowed back in their homes.

One officer was reportedly taken to the hospital after being sickened by the gas. The house did not sustain any damage.
The incident remains under investigation.
