Authorities closed off portions of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 78 after dozens of vehicles — including a few tractor trailers — skidded into each other Thursday morning on the slippery winter roads

A portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike is shut down in snowy eastern Pennsylvania after a pileup involving what appears to be a couple dozen vehicles. Turnpike officials say all lanes westbound were shut down because of the accident between the Morgantown and Reading exits in Berks County. There was no immediate word on injuries in the crash. Also, an accident has shut down Interstate 78 eastbound in Berks County between mileposts 35 and 40 in Lenhartsville.
