Westbound turnpike reopens after truck crash in Pennsylvania

A roughly 10-mile stretch of the westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike reopened about four hours after a tractor-trailer crash near Pittsburgh caused a traffic backlog for miles. State police say the truck driven by 44-year-old Walter Lee Mida, of Wayne, Michigan, hit a guardrail then tipped over onto its side about 11 a.m. Thursday. That happened in Indiana Township, about three miles west of the Route 28 exit, northwest of Pittsburgh. The westbound lanes were closed between that exit and the Route 8 exit about 10 miles farther west until shortly after 3 p.m.
