Truck driver killed after crash with SUV in Pittsburgh.

A man died and a woman was injured when a tractor-trailer and an SUV collided on the outbound Parkway West near Montour Run Road in Moon this morning.

Officials have not yet released the names of those involved.

A woman was driving the SUV when she lost control shortly before 9:45 a.m., tried to regain control and instead collided with a tractor-trailer that was in the middle lane, a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper said.

The tractor-trailer driver hit a barrier, lost control and then hit a guiderail and flipped, winding up on a slope off to the right of the highway.

The truck driver died at the scene of the crash. The SUV driver was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition, Trooper Mungo said.

Police had little immediate information about why the SUV driver initially hit the berm of the road.
