Erie man dies after Saturday crash in Armstrong County

An Erie man involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer Saturday evening in Armstrong County died this morning

Slupski hit a gaurdrail and then crossed in the east bound lane of Route 422.
At approximately 6:40 PM Saturday, Michael Slupski, 43, was driving his Chevrolet Silverado west on State Route 422 in Plumcreek when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered road as he was going downhill. His truck slammed into a guardrail before veering into the eastbound lane where he was hit by a tractor trailer driven by Ryan Fether, 31. Slupski was transported to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital and subsequently airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian, where he died Sunday morning from trauma sustained in the accident. Police state that while Slupksi was wearing a seat belt, he was driving too fast for the inclement conditions.
