Driver killed in high-speed crash
Police say Candy Growden, 48, Catasauqua, was killed after losing control of a car on Route 248 near the Palmerton exit around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
According to a police accident report, Growden was going about 120 miles per hour in a 55 m.p.h. zone when she hit the curb, and then ran into a cement wall.
Police say Growden had just passed another car and also hit a guard rail which went through the car. Nobody else was in the car at the time of the crash.
