York police charge 3 in fatal Christmas hit-and-run crash

YORK, S.C. (AP) - Authorities have charged three people in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in York on Christmas. In a news release, York police say 42-year-old Dana E. Lanier of York was driving when he struck and killed 47-year-old Anthony Shannon. Conditions were foggy that night, but police say it is unclear what role, if any, the weather played in the collision. Authorities say a tip to York County Crime Stoppers led to the arrests. Officials say 40-year-old Ben J. Davison and 22-year-old Joshua D. Turner, both of Clover, were charged with accessory after the fact.
