The collision happened at the intersection of Church Street and Haynsworth Street around 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. According to Coroner Baker, John Stanley, 59, of Sumter, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a wall.
