Troopers seek information regarding fatal hit-and-run involving moped

The 37-year-old moped driver who was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning on Highway 17 has been identified by the Horry County Coroner’s Office. Adolph Fiorilla, from the North Myrtle Beach area, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head trauma due to being struck by another vehicle, states Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler. The coroner's office originally stated that Fiorilla's death was ruled a homicide, but another news release corrected this, stating that the manner has not been determined. Troopers said the two vehicle collision happened on Highway 17 and Landing Way around 12:50 A.M. Tuesday.  Highway Patrol troopers said both vehicles were traveling north when the moped rider was hit from behind, and killed as a result.
