It happened at 11:40 p.m. on Georgetown Road near Mountain Laurel Lane. A 2017 Hyundai sedan going south went off the left side of the road, hit a tree and overturned, killing the driver, according to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway.

According to a S.C. Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. near the intersection of Georgetown Road and Mountain Laurel Lane, approximately 12 miles east of Darlington. A 2017 Hyundai sedan was traveling south on Georgetown Road when it went off the roadway to the left, striking a tree and overturning. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
